Northern Premier League Division One West side from Staffordshire bag second half winner

Wisbech Town FC manager Gary Setchell was proud of his side's performance in their 2-1 home exit to higher-ranked Kidsgrove Athletic.

The Northern Premier League Division One West (the Fenmen hail from the East Division) side from Staffordshire have only once lost all season and are unbeaten away, and won Saturday's tie in the second half with a goal from Kyle Diskin on Non-League Day.

Adam Millson had equalised after the break but could not prevent the visitors claiming their second cup win of the week.

Will Saxton netted in the 40th minute for Kidsgrove, who the Fenmen met for the first-ever time. It was also Wisbech's first game in the Buildbase FA Trophy since 2001.

Setchell said: "It was two minor errors for their goals. At 1-0 down at half-time I thought the lads came out in the second half and played very well.

"Toby (new signing from King's Lynn Town, Hilliard) is a big figure for us. He wins flick-ons and he's a handful. He was unlucky not to score the equaliser at the end. That would probably have been the goal of the season.

"Football games are won in both boxes. We created two, three or four good chances in the second half and they opened us up a couple of times.

"When you've got 18, 19 or 20 year-olds and there's eight or nine of them on the pitch, they do make mistakes, but we have got quality and energy.

"It's disappointing to go out of the FA Cup but they're in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup and got games in hand on other teams."

Wisbech Town now have two home league games in four days, on Saturday (October 20) versus Loughborough Dynamo and on Tuesday (23rd) against Cleethorpes Town.
