Wisbech Swimming Club returned to Newmarket for Round 2 of the Junior Fenland League on Saturday.

Hosts Bottisham, their swimmers and competitors from March, Mildenhall and St Neots did well to keep their heads when the electronic scoring system failed, but Wisbech delivered a decisive 188-point victory.

In the course of 45 events Wisbech took 25 first places, 13 seconds and three thirds, for 22 new personal best times.

Multiple winners included Harry Smith 9 years 25m butterfly, 50m breaststroke and 10/U 50m butterfly; Ben Gilbert 10/U 50m breaststroke and freestyle (both PB); Connor Loughlin 11/U 50m backstroke (PB) and 50m breaststroke; Codi Wedge 11/U 50m freestyle (PB) and 12/U 50m butterfly; Louisa Rowell 12/U 50m backstroke and butterfly (both PB); and Billy Lane 13/U 50m breaststroke (PB) and butterfly.

Wisbech are back for Round 2 of the Anglian League, at Thetford on Saturday, before hosting Round 3 of the JFL at the Hudson Sports Centre on June 11.
