Three Counties members in running action at Thorney
Three Counties Running Club members travelled to Thorney to take part in the Keith Hall Memorial 10k event.
Thorney Running Club who host the event have been racing in Thorney village for 40 years, over varying distances.
The well established 10k follows an out and back route on closed roads through the picturesque village of Thorney, and out on to the Fen roads.
The race is known for its friendly atmosphere with vocal and supportive marshals and also for the many PBs achieved there.
It was a sell-out event, with those who joined helping to celebrate 40 years of racing in Thorney.
Three Counties members all had fantastic runs with PBs all round.
Times: Les Phillips 49:52 (PB), Tabitha Cook 50:58 (PB), Sarah Lamb 1:02:09 (PB), Hayley Cook 1:02:15 (PB) and Martin Jackson 1:08:31 (PB).
Craig Freestone took part in the very challenging Oakley 20-miler.
The event is hosted by Bedford Harriers and this is one of the big races that people use in their build-up to their marathon before starting to taper.
The race starts on the playing field and is an undulating event on rural country roads around villages to the North of Bedford.
Freestone finished 144th out of the 569 finishers in a time of 2:40:25.
