2L Stock Cars make final appearance of 2018 at King’s Lynn
The 2L Stock Cars make their final appearance of 2018 at King’s Lynn on Saturday (5pm) when they will be in action in the first round of the National Series Shootout with racing also coming from the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars and 1300 Stock Cars.
The National Series is a new competition for the 2L Stock Cars in 2018 and replaces the National Points Competition which decides who is the winner of the season long points and will be able to wear the silver roof in 2019.
This follows in the footsteps of the F1 and F2 Stock Cars who have adopted this style of competition in recent years, which has proved to be a big success.
The competition sees ten drivers have to meet certain criteria and they have the opportunity to score points at certain National Series rounds in an aim to win the season long points competition.
Following his success in the World Final at King’s Lynn last month Max Stott is the only local driver who will be competing in the National Series.
Stott starts the competition as one of the outsiders for the title but, after proving the pundits wrong when he won the World Final, he will be equally keen to do the same and capture the silver medal position.
After missing the last few meetings due to a family holiday, Jacob Downey will also be back in action in the Saloons on Saturday and following a lively performance the last time he appeared at King’s Lynn his performance will be eagerly looked forward to.
The 2L Stock Cars also race in their traditional Driver of the Year Final where both Downey and Stott will be looking to put a great performance in.
The F1 Stock Cars will also be in action in a National Series round with the 1300 Stock Cars completing the bill.
Local drivers booked for action in the 1300 Stock Cars include Karl Morris, Scott Sparrow and Barry Ketteringham.
