Wisbech Reserves continue good start to fledgling season
Wisbech Reserves are up to fifth in Division two of the Peterbrough League after a fifth win in their opening seven games.
Lee Brooks' men continued their encouraging start to their first season with a 3-1 win against fourth placed Farcet United at the Fenland Stadium this afternoon, with goals coming from Ash Symonds, Dan Palmer and Maz Kudyba.
In the same division, there was also victory for Long Sutton Athletic Reserves, who triumphed 2-1 away at Parkside FC, with goals from Matty Cawthorn and Sam Moses.
In the Premier Division, Parson Drove's game at home to Stamford Lions was abandoned, Long Sutton won 1-0 at home to ICA Sports, thanks to Matty Eaton's sixth goal of the season, and Leverington Sports drew 3-3 at home to ICA Sports, goals coming from Harley Hollis (2) and Daniel Roberts.
Tydd's good form in Division One continued with a 3-1 home victory over King's Cliffe, Bradley Easey netting twice to make it seven for the season and Maxwell Burrell also on target, in a match which saw Tydd's Matthew Clayden red carded three minutes from time.
Tydd Reserves got the same result as the first team against the same club, winning 3-1 at Kings Cliffe Reserves in Division Three, but Leverington Sports Reserves lost 5-0 at Stilton United Reserves.
In Division Four, Long Sutton Athletic A got back to winning ways with a 3-1 home victory against Warboys Town Reserves, goals coming from Mark Greenacre, Kye Bunce and Jordan Nicholls, while in Division Five, Sutton Bridge stay top and still unbeaten after a 3-3 draw at Rippingale & Folkingham Reserves, Kurt Scott netting twice to make it 13 goals in eight games, and Robert Hook also on target.
In the Veterans Premier Division, Long Sutton Athletic made it two wins out of two with a 1-0 win at home to Stamford Belvedere on Friday evening.
March Town United Reserves are up to fourth in the Cambridgeshire County League Kershaw Senior A after a 4-2 home victory over Soham Town Rangers Reserves, Connor Mazurek netting twice, and Ben Baker and substitute Sean White also on the score sheet.
In Kershaw Senior B, Wisbech St Mary Reserves were beaten 6-0 at home by Hardwick, while, in Kershaw Junior 1B, AFC Walpole are top with five wins out of five after a hard-fought 2-1 win at third-placed Swavesey Institute, Luke Whyatt and an own goal doing the damage. In second place, Outwell Swifts have also won all five games after beating Ely City A 2-1 at home, Kevin Smith and Chris Gunkel scoring, but it was a bad day for Luke Plumb, who missed a penalty and was sent off.
March Town United A are top of Kershaw 2B after a 2 - 0 home win against Burwell Tigers, substitute Thomas Morton scoring both goals. Benwick Athletic are up to third after a 3-1 win at Fordham Reserves, and Guyhirn are up to fifth after an excellent 2-1 win at Exning United.
Manea United are up to fourth in Kershaw 3C after a 3-1 derby win at Doddington United, Oliver Johnson, Owen Johnson and Alex Pitt getting the Manea goals and Dylan Pettit netting for Doddington. March Academy are fifth after a 4-2 win at Little Downham & Pymoor Swifts Reserves, goals coming from Adam Conyard (2), Kyle Bird and Luke Cable.
Fen Tigers Engineers are undefeated and up to second place in Kershaw Junior 4C after winning 6-0 at March Academy Reserves, Lee Ransome netting twice and Robert van kopenhagen, Hugo Bryant, Robbie Ryan and Dean Joyce also on target. But Outwell Swifts Reserves are fourth after losing 3-1 at Lakenheath Casuals Reserves.
Benwick Athletic Reserves lost 2-0 at home to Guyhirn Reserves and Manea United Manea Reserves were defeated at home, 2-1 to Huntingdon United Reserves, with Airidas Ribinskas scoring..
