Defending champion Stephen Glover went out in the quarter-finals to Joe Randall, despite leading in both sets.

Both semi-finals produced some outstanding games, with Ginnie Marsh overcoming Joanne Denny, and Cheryl Salisbury doing just enough to beat Pauline Ayres.

The game of the tournament was Jack Larter versus Ed Elmore, both players on top form.

Elmore held the game on the deciding tie-break end. However, a wonder bowl by Larter, drawing within inches clinched the win.

Mark Denny squeezed past Joe Randall again on the tie-break to book his place in the final.

The ladies' final went down to a tie-break with Salisbury holding the shot, and Marsh's running wood missed by millimetres to give the defending champion the title once again.

Jack Larter maintained his good form to get past Mark Denny on a tie-break after a great fightback by the latter.

The £200 first prize and Doorbrite Singles Champions were Cheryl Salisbury and Jack Larter.
