March boxer puts his name alongside the likes of Nigel Benn, Joe Calzaghe, Carl Froch, James DeGale and George Groves after national title success
Harley Burrows added his name to an illustrious list of fighters after defeating Chris Mulunds in the Senior National Championships at the weekend.
The March amateur boxer defeated Mulunds by a split 4-1 decision in the 71-75kg category in the final.
In the semi-final, Burrows defeated last year’s champion Marc Haughan on points.
Previous winners of the title include the likes of Nigel Benn, Joe Calzaghe, Carl Froch, James DeGale and George Groves.
March coach David Cole said: "Harley has been boxing with us for about three years and ever since we first saw him, we knew that he had potential.
"But to be fighting in the finals of the National Championships in his first year as a senior is an amazing achievement.”
