Fenland drivers gunning for glory as BriSCA stock cars appear at King’s Lynn for the final time in 2024

BriSCA stock cars appear at King’s Lynn for the final time until 2025 this Saturday (5pm) and a real corker is in prospect with both the F1 and F2 stock cars in action.

The stakes couldn’t be much bigger for Manea’s Dave Polley.

The F1 stock cars are racing in the final round of the second phase of the National Series whilst the F2 stock sars are racing in the prestigious World of Shale Championship.

Polley has only raced F1 stock cars in the UK this season and is in the middle of the battle of the National Series.

This series is a battle for who is crowned the season points champion.

The top 16 drivers in the grading list entered the series in September and it runs over 12 meetings with drivers being eliminated every four meetings and the points reset.

Polley enters Saturday with a decent lead over Jelle Tesselaar but the lead is by no means unsurmountable and Polley will have to be at his best to ensure he progresses to the final rounds.

Although he hasn't raced F2 stock cars this season he is the reigning World of Shale Champion having won the title at Northampton last season.

Polley has declared “he doesn’t like giving trophies back” and despite his F1 commitments on Saturday, he will be giving his fans plenty to look forward to by also defending his World of Shale title.

He will have to do it the hard way though as he is only in the race as defending champion and will have to come from the very back of a 39-car field – if there is one driver who can do it around Lynn though it is Polley.

Meanwhile, Brad Bartram continued his march to the National Banger Points title at King’s Lynn with another solid performance at the weekend – the highlight of which was winning the 1600cc Banger Caged Open Final.

Bartram was in action in both National Banger Formulas and scored well throughout and was also unlucky not to win the 2L Banger Destruction Derby when his car caught fire when he was looking by far the strongest of the last couple of cars.

James Licquorice was also in good form again and picked up another entertainer award on his march towards the Entertainer League title whilst Joel Allen also picked up an entertainer award for a cracking hit in the 1600 Bangers.

Danielle Ellis picked up a fifth-place finish in the Lady Banger Gold Roof Final after building up a good lead only to spin out whilst Carly Geeves also had some good results throughout the night including a runner-up finish in one of the all-comers races.

Lincoln Douglas produced a great drive in a hectic junior banger final to come home in second place.
