Penny Gilbert wins Margaret Butt's lady captain day at March Golf Club
Margaret Butt hosted the Lady Captain's Day at March Golf Club - with 25 women taking part.
Margaret said: "We had a great day, it was so good to see so many from the ladies section playing and there were some really good results."
Penny Gilbert finished in first place, with Barbara Spilka and Viv Snushall coming in second and third.
Nearest the pin was won by Emma Athow and Jo Rowlett. The longest and straightest drives were awarded to Emma Athow and Dawn Robinson. Penny also won the cup for best score for a past captain.
Penny said: "It’s amazing how a good game of golf can cheer you up! We had a brilliant day."
Elsewhere, the club scratch team played against St Ives (Hunts) in the Second Division play-offs, at the end of a very close game it was all level, due to a magnificent 25 foot putt from Lewis Hearn. Max Flintoft and Blue Revell won the play-off hole, putting the March team in the play-off final and securing promotion to Division One.
Max said: "This is a great achievement for the scratch team, we are so pleased to get promoted."
