Wisbech Town Football Club make new managerial appointment
Wisbech Town Football Club have moved quickly to fill the void left by the sudden departure of Gary Setchell.
The Fenmen have appointed former Holbeach United manager Seb Hayes as the new man at the helm at the Elgoods Fenland Stadium,
Peterborough-based Hayes, 43, left the Fenmen’s South Lincolnshire neighbours in January.
On his appointment, Hayes told the club’s website, Seb said “I’m extremely happy to have the opportunity to manage a club the size of Wisbech Town.
"I’m looking forward to the challenge of managing at Step 4 and can’t wait to get started.”
In his two years at United Counties League Premier Division side Holbeach Hayes won the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy and finished above the Fenmen in fourth place.
He had perhaps his most successful job to date when guiding Huntingdon Town to the United Counties League runners-up spot and Hinchingbrooke Cup success in 2014.
Hayes also won the Hinchingbrooke Cup when jointly in charge of Peterborough Northern Star in 2015.
Pre-season training commences on Tuesday, June 25, and there will be a fans’ forum after one of the sessions, date to be confirmed.
