Guyhirn venue to host prestigious event on the British Minigolf Association calendar

The next Rory McIlroy's and Scottie Sheffler's could be on show as a popular Fenland venue hosts a prestigious event on the British Minigolf Association (BMGA) calendar this weekend.

Play2Day, based at Guyhirn, is staging the UrbanCrazy Foxes Minigolf Open on Sunday - one of three events to be held at the venue this summer.

Ian Parkinson, Owner of Play2Day, said: “We are very excited to have the opportunity to welcome competitors to our little Augusta National of the Fens.

"It is a huge compliment to our course to be asked to host one event, but to host three events this year, we are extremely proud.”

The events are part of the BMG Tour, where professional minigolfers up and down Great Britain take part in minigolf events.

Players earn ranking points for participating on the tour and the top players within the top rankings can participate in playing for their country.

Sunday's event in the Fens will not only benefit both the local community of Guyhirn, but also the tour and the sport itself.

It will also raise awareness that there is a competitive side to the sport.

People of any age and gender have the chance to compete and play at a high level.

Whether you have played at a professional level in Minigolf or are someone who wants to play their first event as a novice, there are good cash prizes on offer for the winners.
