Three Counties Running Club impress at final Shouldham cross country series race
Three Counties Running Club were in great form at the last race of the Shouldham cross country series hosted by Ryston Runners.
The course was quite hard going under foot as there had been no rain, so the usual mud wasn’t in place to make it soft and slippery.
There were only a couple of TCRC members taking part this time due to marathon training commitments, but they both had great races.
Sarah-Jane Macdonald and Lorraine Parker impressed, with Sarah-Jane finishing in a time of 32:50 (fourth in age) and Lorraine with a CPB of 34:49 to finish second in her age category.
To top it off, both ladies had a fantastic series overa ll - with Sarah-Jane finishing third in her age for the entire six-race series and Lorraine a fantastic second in age.
Then, at the weekend, Tamara Barnes took on the Wymondham 20-miler as part of her marathon training plan.
This race is the second event in the Sportlink Specialists Sports Ltd 2023 Grand Prix Series, and is an ideal spring marathon training race.
The course starts in the town of Wymondham, and the runners completed two laps of the scenic, countryside roads complete with hills.
Tamara had a great race, finishing with a PB of 3:58:22.
