Parson Drove beat Whittlesey Athletic 2-1 in Thurlow Nunn League First Division North

Parson Drove gave their survival hopes another major boost with an excellent win over in-form Whittlesey Athletic.

Whittlesey, currently fifth in the Thurlow Nunn League First Division North, had yet to lose a league game in 2023 when they travelled to Arran Duke's side last night.

Drove, however, were buoyed by a vital 2-1 win over Swaffham Town last Friday night - and the same scoreline would end in their favour yesterday evening.

Rory Harper and Nandeli Pelembe both scored their first goals for the club to seal a victory which propelled them up into 16th in the standings, albeit only on goal difference.

On Twitter, the club said: "Showed real grit, determination and fight to win this game."

Drove are now gearing up for a tough visit to fourth-placed Downham Town this Saturday.
