Comfortable win for Marshland Saints Reserves over Gayton United A
Marshland Saints Reserves picked up their third North West Norfolk League Division Two win of the season with a comfortable home victory over Gayton United A on Saturday.
Saints controlled our featured match, with wingers Josh Barber and Ivan Crisp dangerous, the midfield pairing of Corey Brady and Brogan Wright creating chances and stopping the opposition from playing and the back four superb.
Goals came from Ivan Crisp, Asa Calton and man of the match Corey Brady, with United’s effort coming from their only shot on target after a goalkeeper slip.
Marshland Saints first team lost in the quarter-final of the Anglian Combination CS Morley Cup 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Prostar Windows. Bradley Didwell and Callum Rogers scored for Saints.
Leverington Sports’ title hopes took a knock when they lost 3-1 at home to fellow challengers Warboys Town in the Peterborough League Premier Division, Aaron McKenna scoring for the home team.
In Division One, Long Sutton Athletic were beaten 6-1 at title challengers Cardea, Jamie Taylor scoring for Magpies while in Division Two, Tydd Reserves lost 4-1 at Crowland Town Reserves and Sutton Bridge United lost 4-0 at Oakham United Reserves.
In 1B of the Cambs County League, Chatteris Town Reserves lost 5-1 at home to Hemingfords United Reserves, with Joshua Doncaster scoring and Jack Rudkin man of the match.
In the same division, Benwick Athletic (Christchurch) lost 3-2 at Eynesbury Rovers Reserves, Dayne Moore getting both Athletic goals.
Manea United lost 4-3 at home to St Ives Town A in 2B, Delano Lloyd, Robbie Ryan and Dale Richardson scoring for United.
Wisbech St Mary Reserves continue their promotion challenge with a 9-0 thumping of bottom side Brampton Reserves, Jamie Leet netting a hat-trick, and braces for Ant Matos and Ryan McManus, with Joseph Wheatley and Spencer Singleterry also on the scoresheet.
Match of the day in 4B saw Chatteris Town A beat Outwell Swifts Reserves 5-4, with Dean Joyce scoring twice to make it 11 for the campaign, Joshua Peachey, player of the match Scotty Johnson and Luis Webb on target for the Lilies. Adan-Jay Lewis and Stefan Anderson both notched twice for Swifts.
Upwell Town beat Manea United Reserves 5-3 in the same division, Tom Kightly, Max Williamson and an own goal for Manea. Wisbech St Mary A moved into the promotion places with a 3-1 home win against March Academy Adults, Willis Wright, Jay Chilton and Josh Williams scoring for Saints and Jacob Gray netting for Academy.
