Chatteris professional boxing coach, Paul Gill, had an amazing experience supporting IBF World Champion Kell Brook on the ‘Team Brook’ training camp in Fuerteventura.

Brook is set to fight undisputed middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, who is pound-for-pound the best fighter in the world.

Paul, who has built strong links with the Ingle Gym over the last 18 years, said: “This fight is being tipped as the most exciting fight this year. Kell has moved up two weight divisions to fight Golovkin; there is controversy about this decision, which brings added interest.”

Around six of the Sheffield-based boxers, a strength and conditioning expert, a nutritionist, head coach Dominic Ingle and Gill attended the camp in order to support Kell to have the best chance.

Paul said: “It was intensive training – wake, train, eat, rest, train, eat, sleep repeat, with a variety of sessions such as sparring, strength and conditioning, pad work and track runs.

“The experience of being with world class professional boxers, all unique, self-motivated and hardworking was inspiring – I even did a bit of training myself.”

Paul added it was enjoyable to join his son, pro Jordan Gill, on this camp and see close up the development he has made.

Jordan should have exciting news about his next fight soon and can’t wait to show the crowd his developed power.

Jordan said: “It was great having Dad with me on camp – the other lads enjoyed it too. We got extra pad work and in between training had a laugh and fun with my old man.”
