Youth caught with police-style baton thanks to CCTV




Eagle-eyed CCTV operators helped police catch a youth carrying weapons in a Fenland park.

The incident on Saturday afternoon (25) happened when the Peterborough and Fenland CCTV operators spotted a youth in the Artillery Street Park area of Wisbech with a police style baton.

The youth decided to hid the baton but a police spokesperson said "CCTV was watching". The youth

was stopped by response officers assisted by Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team.

A youth was spotted carrying a police style baton and later handed over two BB guns.

The baton was recovered by officers and the youth was taken home to his parents. Two metal BB guns were handed over and disclaimed to the police which were owned by the youth.

Enquiries are ongoing with this incident.
