Wisbech Community Hub is on the move

Wisbech Community Hub is set to move to a nearby museum with the hopes it will help rejuvenate the attraction.

The trustees of Octavia Hill's Birthplace House at South Brink have announced the Hub's relocation to the museum at 7 South Brink from its current home at the former Etcetera premises in York Row.

A spokesperson for the trustees of the Birthplace House said: "This move, together with the works now being undertaken to both the exterior façades and internal displays, will rejuvenate the celebration of the life and works of this remarkable woman, Octavia Hill who was born in the house in 1838.

"Ahead of her time, this Victorian woman was one of the three founders of the National Trust, a leader in the provision of social housing and a pioneer of the Army Cadet Force.

"The Hub with its details of the heritage of Wisbech will support and improve the story of Octavia Hill."
