Upwell No1 Footbridge is to close for three weeks while maintenance is carried out
A village river crossing is set to close for three weeks for maintenance work.
Upwell No1 Footbridge will be closed from Monday, March 17 for 3 weeks, re-opening late afternoon/early evening on Friday, April 4.
The work will involve stripping off existing deck, carrying out steelwork repairs, patch painting, re-decking, and using a floating works platform. For this work to take place, a full bridge closure is required to maintain a safe working area for our subcontractors.
A signed diversion route will be in place for the duration of the closure.
Norfolk County Council has thanked residents in advance for their patience while this maintenance work is carried out.
The work, which will cost £35,000, will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s infrastructure department and their contractors.
