Weasenham Lane in Wisbech closed and cordon in place following discovery of WWII bomb




A road in town has been blocked off due to the discovery of a bomb.

Police were called at 10.18am today with reports of what is believed to be the discovery of an unexploded Second World War bomb down Weasenham Lane in Wisbech.

Officers are currently at the scene and a 200m cordon has been set up as a precaution and the road has been closed.

Residents are advised to avoid the area.

A police spokesperson has said: “We have made contact with Explosive Ordnance Disposal.”
