Ten people hurt in three car crash on A141 at Wimblington Sisco turn-off




There are long delays on the A141 Isle of Ely Way between Chatteris and the Manea turn after an accident has blocked the road this morning (Thursday).

The Wimblington by-pass is slow moving in both directions between the Aldi roundabout in Chatteris and the Manea turn off in Wimblington due to the crash.

The accident, which involved three vehicles, has partially blocked the road which is causing delays in the area.

An eyewitness who passed the scene earlier this morning said there was a heavy emergency service presence responding to the accident.

On Facebook they wrote: "Seven police cars, six ambulance and numerous unmarked cars and still more arriving."

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 6.35am today with reports of a collision involving three vehicles on the A141 at the junction with the B1093 near Wimblington.

"Officers, paramedics and the air ambulance have attended the scene. Ten people have been injured, two seriously, but at this stage none are believed to be in a life-threatening condition.

"A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

"The road remains open, but there is increased congestion in the area."
