QD Furniture Store in March High Street to close

Discount retailer QD Stores is to close its furniture store on March High Street on August 26.

QD’s main retail store, which is located further up the road on Broad Street, will remain open.

A closing down sale at the QD furniture store started today (Wednesday), with everything being sold at 50% off, offering amazing bargains on high quality, great value furniture ranges for the bedroom, living room and dining room.

Commenting, QD group operations director, Karl Ottolangui, said: “Despite the hard work and best efforts of the team at the furniture store, sales have continued to dwindle and sadly it has become no longer viable for us to run two stores in March. Therefore, we have had to take the very difficult decision to close the furniture store.”

The furniture store is staffed by QD employees who also work on rotation in March’s main QD store so no jobs are to be made redundant.

Karl Ottolangui continued: “The retail market remains challenging, but our main QD store in March is trading well and we are committed to staying in the town. The QD Group has been successful in bucking the trend with a number of new store openings in other locations and a significant investment in our distribution facilities.”
