Long Sutton Horse and Pony Show returns
Crowds of people went along to support a popular dog and horse show which returned over the weekend.
Organisers Lisa Kerwood and Dawn Clarke were over the moon with the response to the Long Sutton Horse and Pony Show following the two-year break.
People from across South Holland went along to Cinder Ash Park in Long Sutton on Sunday to watch as riders and dog owners competed in the various classes.
Riding and showing classes were held during the day in the affiliated ring, with some qualifying for the larger Equifest event, which is held at the East of England Showground in August.
The show also included a fun ring where judges had the difficult task of choosing the prettiest mare along with the best mane and tail as well as the outstanding young handler.
However, the dog show proved to be a popular attraction to this year’s event with more than 30 competitors taking part in the classes and organisers are considering making this event bigger in the future.
This year’s show also included a new feature - a horse agility course - which was provided by Rachel Hartopp from Berry Fields Assisted Education.
Organiser Lisa was delighted with the positive feedback received throughout the day from visitors.
She said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along to support the show and all our friends and family who helped to put it on.
“It was lovely to be back and to see everyone smiling all day long.
“At the moment with fuel prices and the economic situation we are extremely grateful that people came out to spend their money.”
- Lisa and Dawn would like to hear ideas of how they could improve the show and ask people to comment on their Facebook page.
