Sutton Bridge-based fresh prepared food producers Wingland Foods have celebrated their 15th birthday.

Part of Bakkavor Group, the factory officially opened on April 7, 2000.

It has grown to employ an impressive 550 staff, producing a wide range of fresh prepared produce and deli products.

To celebrate the milestone, the business hosted a birthday lunch including celebratory cake for all employees.

The occasion has also been marked with a special Wingland Foods logo which will be widely used across the business.

It is also proudly emblazoned on a new flag to fly outside the factory for the coming 12 months.

The flag was raised by a group of employees who started with the business when it opened in April, 2000.

As part of its 15th year celebrations the business will also be opening a new employee picnic area for the site and arranging a family fun day later in the year.

Jon Pinder, General Manager, said: “Wingland Foods has a proven track record of producing the highest quality fresh prepared foods for Waitrose.

“This, along with the significant growth of the company over the past 15 years, is a result of the fantastic work undertaken by our people, who deliver quality and service day in, day out.

“I am delighted to celebrate our 15th year with all our employees, and recognise the 48 members of the Wingland Foods team who have individually clocked up 15 or more years of continuous service within the Group.”
