Fenland Business Awards: March Fast Fit and Servicing named Best New Start Up

“I’m not going to lie I wanted to win” - Jamie Coombs of March Fast Fit and Servicing was not beating about the bush as he picked up the first award of the night for Best New Start-Up.

Established three years ago, March Fast Fit and Servicing has an ethos for putting the customer first and providing good honest service.

Winning the award for Jamie meant that his business model is the right one, and by being upfront and providing excellent service and genuine advice is what people want when it comes to having their cars fixed.

He said: “I’m glad I won. I’m not going to lie I wanted to win, but having said that I didn’t necessarily expect to. But what is the point in being up for an award if you don’t want to win.

“It has been hard work launching the company but it shows that it can pay off. Winning the award means we are doing something right. When I found out we had been nominated - not by us but by someone else - I thought, ‘why don’t we deserve it - we work hard’.”

The judges in this category were looking for a business that could best demonstrate it is on the right track and looking strong with great prospects for the future.

Jamie has demonstrated that having launched his garage in Creek Road just as the pandemic hit 2020, he celebrated the firm’s third anniversary last month and it continues to grow with the taking on of a new member of staff.

There were three finalists: March Fast Fit and Servicing; Sizzler Barbecue Caterers and the Local Sweet Cart Company.

The award was announced by Mike Blackledge, an associate at Whitings LLP, who said, after congratulating all the finalists, that it was a privilege and a pleasure to hand over the trophy to March Fast Fit and Servicing.
