March Brass 2000 tunes in for RBL annual concert
An audience of around 100 people enjoyed the annual Royal British Legion concert performed by March Brass 2000.
The evening of music was held at the March GER Club and saw the band perform a host of popular brass tunes in the first half, with a 'Last Night of the Proms' performance in the second half.
Money raised during the evening will be going to the March Royal British Legion annual Poppy Appeal.
Lieutenant Colonel Nigel 'Spence' Spencer, who helped organise the event, said it was a very successful evening, with four RBL standards on show, two from March and two from Chatteris RBL, who supported the concert.
He explained the annual concert sees a different band invited to play each year and this year the town's own band was invited to perform.
The evening, which was attended by March mayor Kim French and her partner Ian Diplock, included a half-time raffle, and concluded with an Act of Remembrance.
March Brass 2000 are always looking for new members and players of all ages and experience are welcome to join the friendly 'community' brass band.
Rehearsals are Monday evenings 7pm to 9pm at St Peter's Church in March.
