Man taken to Cambridge hospital following A142 crash at Chatteris




A man has been hospitalised with serious injuries following a collision on the A142 at Chatteris this morning.

Cambridgeshire police were called at 4:48am to reports of a two-vehicle collision.

A polcie spokesperson said: “Officers attended alongside paramedics and one man has been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries.

Firefighters were also at the scene with crews from Chatteris, Manea and March all attending.

Crews arrived to find a collision involving a heavy goods vehicle and a car. Using specialist equipment they released a casualty who was left in the care of ambulance crews.

The crews returned to their stations by 6.10am.

The road was closed for a number of hours, but has since re-opened.
