Man in court on various charges including burglary in Wisbech
Detectives from Fenland police’s acquisitive crime team have charged a man in connection with recent burglaries at businesses in Wisbech.
Barry Robinson, 49, was arrested by response officers in Wisbech park in the early hours of June 9, following reports of a nearby burglary in progress.
With help from CCTV operators and a member of the public who gave descriptions of suspects, Robinson, of no fixed address, was located and later charged with the following offences:
• Burglary with intent to steal at Kings Barbers in Norwich Road on June 8.
• Attempted burglary of Kimz Hair Salon in Market Street on June 8.
• Burglary with intent to steal at Britannia Café in Blackfriars Road on June 9.
• Theft of a Ford Fiesta from Henry Street on June 9.
He appeared in court on June 10 where he pleaded guilty to all charges and has been remanded in prison until his sentencing at Cambridge Crown Court on July 22.
A second man was arrested alongside Robinson, however, he was released from custody on bail pending further inquiries.
