Crown Lodge Hotel in Outwell with family values at its heart is Business of the Year 2025 in Fenland Citizen Business Awards
A family-owned business with more than 40 years experience proved top of the pile when it was crowned Business of the Year 2025.
Ben Beech of headline and category sponsor of the Fenland Citizen Business Awards 2025 said he had great pleasure in announcing the Crown Lodge Hotel in Outwell as this year’s Business of the Year.
The Crown beat off fellow finalists Build a Brand of Wisbech and Goldstar Metal Traders Ltd of March – both winners in previous Fenland Citizen Business Awards – to win the award at the presentation evening at the Braza Club in March on Friday.
The award is open to any firm that has been trading for more than three years and employs more than five staff.
It has to show business growth and a commitment to the local community as well as having a vision for the next three to five years, with management with the ability to drive the business forward as well as having a commitment to staff.
Ben told the 200-plus audience that the Crown Has demonstrated all those qualities including its commitment to the local community.
Tim Gibb managing director, whose family have owned the hotel for 40 years and who has been involved in the business for the past 15 years, said he was delighted to collect the award.
He said the ethos of the hotel is its strong family values and he paid tribute to his team and said the award was recognition of their dedication and hard work.
“The award certainly means a lot to us, we are very proud to have been recognised in this way, and it is really a win for the team, who work so hard,” said Tim.
