Golden celebration for Hudson Leisure Centre in Wisbech

There was a weekend of fun and action at the Hudson Leisure Centre in Wisbech as the venue celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Over two days there were classes galore from body pump to box and burn on Saturday to taster sessions including hockey and fun for children on Sunday.

The golden celebrations also included a raffle and fundraising in aid of the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre and its parent charity the Arthur Rank Hospice.

Children's fun included swimming, junior gym and soft play.

There were also stalls run by local businesses and organisations to help promote themselves.

A special plaque commemorating Alan Hudson and his wife Marjorie - after whom the centre was named - was provided by the Hudson Foundation was also presented and will sit alongside the plaque which commemorates the centre's official opening in October 1972.
