Gallery: Planes, trains and auto-mobiles at Tydd St Mary
Planes, trains and auto-mobiles gave visitors to one village a feast for the eyes over the weekend.
Crowds flocked to Tydd St Mary Playing Field to see an incredible display at the Classic Vehicle Rally and Fun Day.
Organised by playing field committee, there were around 400 pieces of machinery to look at.
Committee member Allen Smith, who helped launch the event nine years ago, was delighted with how well the day went.
He said: “It was absolutely fantastic!
“There were so many people and so many cars - I would say it’s the best year we’ve had since we started nine years ago.
“Thankfully, the weather held off and although we had a few spots of rain in the morning we were fine until the end.”
More than £7,000 was raised by the event which will be split between Holbeach Hospital and St Barnabas.
Visitors were able to enjoy hobby stalls, games, refreshments and even a couple of bouncy castles.
Of course, the stars of the show were the vehicles. There were classic cars, modern classics, lorries, tractors, scoots and even steam engines.
Allen said: “We had organised a fly past by the Lancaster but unfortunately we were told on the day there were mechanical issues with it.
“However, we had the Hawker Hurricane instead which was really good. Overall, it was a very good day.”
