Fenland-based police officer Dean Thompson to appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court charged with assault by beating following incident in park in Wisbech

A Fenland-based police officer is due in court today charged with assault by beating.

PC Dean Thompson, 53, will appear at St Albans Magistrates’ Court after being charged on February 6.

It comes after an incident in a Wisbech park in August last year.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary has confirmed that he is currently suspended from duty.
