Silverwood Garden Centre held its first monthly Farmers’ Market in Long Sutton which attracted enthusiastic shoppers
Crowds were attracted to a monthly farmers’ market launched at a garden centre
More than a thousand people went along to the grand opening event at Silverwood Centre in Long Sutton and visit the newly renovated Silverwood Café.
The site has a number of independent businesses including Connor Ryan Tattoo who has moved from Sutton Bridge to the premises as they are bigger.
Chantell Loveridge from CFT Plants and Hedging said: “ It was absolutely brilliant and we had lots of comments about how nice the place looked.
“We had more than 1,000 people turn up and the café had raving reviews – it couldn’t have gone better.
“All the stall holders did amazingly and people seemed pleased to see the garden centre up and running again.”
Visitors were able to buy handmade goods at the stalls which included wildflower bee-friendly flower seed cards and unique candles.
Plants and garden items such as bird boxes were available plus new business The Crafty March Hare.
The Silverwood Monthly Market will be returning in March due to the positive feedback from customers and stall holders.
