Drive-thru coffee and car wash coming to Fenland town

Plans have gone in for a drive-thru cafe in March complete with electric car charging points and a state-of-the-art car wash.

The application has been made by London-based One Wisbech Road March Ltd for a site of Gipsy Lane – the access road for the existing KFC and Cobblestones pub off Wisbech Road.

There are few details given about the proposal other than it will be a drive-thru cafe with the added facilities.

Visuals submitted alongside the application imply the cafe will offer the Dutch-based coffee brand Bocca.

But a location map accompanying the application shows that the new cafe will be further along Gipsy Lane behind the houses fronting Wisbech Road and next to the KFC site.

There are also images labelled Bocca Coffee visuals suggesting it will be the Dutch-brand coffee on offer.

There will be five parking spaces and eight electric vehicle charging points.

The total floorspace for the cafe, the car wash and the electric charging/parking spaces is 105.3sq metres.

There has already been support for the proposal for its green credentials as 85 per cent of water used by the automatic car wash will be cleaned and recycled on site.

Ralph Braam, of Knights End Road, March, who is the first to comment on the application, which was submitted in July but went live on Fenland’s planning portal this week said: “Great to see investment and green infrastructure going in March. This is an ideal position for this business.”

The site is adjacent to the existing KFC off Wisbech Road, March.
