Dream destinations for 2025 – a look at where’s hot for your summer hols with Wisbech travel agent Sunlounger Travel
As we say goodbye to 2024 after a Christmas of turkey and crackers it is time to turn our dreams to the summer months.
It may be months away, but the holiday season will roll around faster than we might imagine.
So what is hot, and what is not for summer 2025 according to Sunlounger Travel in Wisbech and King’s Lynn.
As you would expect the usual culprits are there in the the Balearics, Canary Islands, Greek Islands, and Turkey.
But coming slightly out of the left field is Morocco, which has been a known destination for years, but has seen a growing popularity and looks set to be a hot spot for tourists next summer.
It is also proving a popular alternative for some winter sun, with temperatures currently sitting around the low 20s – so not dissimilar to the Canaries and it is considerably cheaper too.
Many holidaymakers seem to be turning away from Spain following this summer’s protests over the number of British tourists in resorts.
Instead, they are looking at Turkey, Greece, and further afield to Egypt.
All offer that British must-have ‘all-inclusive’ deal, and are great for families. Turkey in particular is a very family-orientated destination, with many hotels having their own-style water parks.
Expectations are high that the holiday booking frenzy in January will see Florida topping many people’s choice of destination as next year sees the opening of the new Universal Epic attraction.
A brand new theme park with five areas including How to Train Your Dragon, Super Nintendo World, Harry Potter with Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe, and Celestial Park with more than 50 new experiences to uncover.
Definitely one for families of all ages, and of course Florida also boasts some beautiful beaches for those who like a bit of sun worshipping too.
If you have a bigger budget, and don’t mind a longer flight then Thailand still continues to be very popular as it offers a taste of the Far East as well as having lots of things to do and see, and experience including the Elephant Hills where you meet the elephants in a natural environment and take a river trip in a canoe to stay on a lake in the middle of the jungle.
Bali is equally popular as it has good weather from June to September, so is a good British summer long-haul destination, offering a chance to stay in villas surrounded by the jungle, as well as of course beautiful beaches and while the flights might be pricey it is reasonable once you get there.
For those who don’t like flying and the stress of an airport, or simply want a quieter pace then cruises are proving a hit with many ships leaving from Southampton heading as far afield as Italy.
Popular destinations include the Norwegian fjords, the Balearic Islands, and the Spanish coastline.
A positive for this choice of holiday is the onboard entertainment for all ages, including kids’ clubs.
They are also proving to be quite reasonably priced compared to a normal fly-and-stay break.
If travelling abroad is not your thing then there are of course holidays such as staying at Hoseasons – these resorts are all over the UK and offer lots of family fun, swimming pools, play parks, and entertainment.
