Fenland Business Awards: DKO Wheatley wins Business Innovation for 2025




A room filled with cheers as the winner was announced for the Fenland Citizen Business Awards’ Innovation category.

DKO Wheatley was crowned as this year's winner for the category, with the award proudly presented by Wendy Smith of sponsors Purina.

On collecting the award, David Wheatley, owner of the company, said he was feeling really shocked to be the winner.

He said: “It is recognition more than anything. I feel like I am a small person amongst all of these people. It is a bit emotional.

“It has been going since 1996, we did have a hard time during Covid and we had a fire, but through everything, I have come out a lot stronger.”

There were two other finalists in the running for this award: Doorbrite Ltd and The Singing Gardner.

The business based in Wisbech specialises in tree cutting.

This award celebrates new ideas, processes, products, services, technologies and applications that have had an impact on an organisation’s success.

The business to receive this award had to show organisation that can best demonstrate an ability to create, grow and develop innovations or processes that substantially improve the commercial performance or prospects of the company.
