Owners of The Secret Garden Touring Park in Wisbech ‘delighted’ as Fenland District Council grant pushes sound project a year ahead of schedule
Campsite owners say they are ‘delighted’ to get district council support after being awarded a grant to help with a sound depletion project.
Steve and Lesley Pollington, who run The Secret Garden Touring Park in Wisbech, have been able to complete the site’s sound attenuation project a year ahead of schedule thanks to funding from Fenland District Council.
The money comes as part of the government’s Rural England Prosperity Fund which allows authorities to develop proposals for capital projects that support small businesses and community infrastructure.
Ready for the number of touring acts visiting the award-winning site this year, the project will provide a boost to the quality of sound and technology within its events area.
Steve said the pair are feeling “delighted that we have had this support from FDC”.
The district council had a total of £356,000 to award this financial year with businesses being able to apply for grants of up to £10,000 up until Saturday, April 6.
Cllr Ian Benney, Fenland District Council's portfolio holder for economic growth and skills, said: "One of our key priorities is to promote growth and prosperity to benefit Fenland.
"The Fenland Rural England Prosperity Fund is one of the ways we are drawing central government funding into the district to provide direct benefit to the people of Fenland by helping our businesses to grow, provide more jobs and make Fenland thrive.”
