Car catches fire after colliding with barrier in Whittlesey

A car caught fire after colliding with a barrier in Whittlesey on Monday.

At 10.04pm, firefighters from Whittlesey and Stanground were called to the blaze on the B1040 near Wetland Way.

Crews arrived to find a car on fire following a collision with a barrier.

Wearing breathing apparatus, they extinguished the blaze using hose reels. A female casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The crews returned to their stations by 12.30am.
