How much council tax you will pay in Fenland – full 2025 breakdown
People across Cambridgeshire will see their council tax bills increase next month as a new financial year begins.
Council tax is used to fund local authorities, as well as the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, and the police and fire services.
Most authorities agreed to increase their share of the bill, including Cambridgeshire County Council which approved a 4.99 per cent increase, 2 per cent of which is for funding adult social services.
The county council said the increase would raise £20million which will help it “maintain and protect critical services for the most vulnerable communities”.
Some of the authorities in the area agreed to freeze their share of the council tax bill, including the Combined Authority, East Cambridgeshire District Council, and Fenland District Council.
In East Cambridgeshire it was the 12th year the district council had agreed to freeze its share of council tax.
